Town Hall is Open to the Public

The Town phones are manned from 10 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday. Town Hall is also open to the public, 10 AM to 2 PM Monday through Friday.  We ask that you not come in if you are not feeling well, running a fever, coughing or sneezing.  We look forward to serving you, either in person or via phone call.

The Police Department continues to operate as usual.  You can reach the Ignacio Police Department by calling 970-563-4206.

If you have a utility emergency, please call the on-call number (970-759-3660). The Public Works employee that is on call will assess the emergency and respond accordingly. If you have a utility billing or service question, please call Town Hall (970-563-9494) or email the Utility Clerk (tdunton@townofignacio.com).

Utility Billing Update

The Town Board removed the waiver of utility billing late fees, disconnections and reconnect fees.  Beginning in July of 2021, we returned to the standard Utility Billing Policy which states that late fees will be applied to any account with an outstanding balance on the 26th of the month. If your account remains delinquent, your utilities will be shut off on August 10, and you will need to pay the past due amount plus the $10.00 late fee and a $50.00 reconnect fee to have your utilities turned back on.

The next Regular Town Board Meeting will be on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 6:30 PM.
The agenda and detailed information on how you can attend and participate will be posted here a minimum of 24 hours prior to the meeting.

DRAFT Land Use Code

 

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Ignacio Planning Commission will host a Public Hearing on January 12, 2022, at 6:00 PM, in the Abel F. Atencio Community Room (570 Goddard Ave), and via Remote Public Meeting, to allow for comments on the Town of Ignacio Land Use and Development Code update, and on the proposed zoning ordinance amendment and amendments to the Town of Ignacio’s official zoning map as part of a town-wide rezoning of property within the Town of Ignacio.  Details of how to participate in the Public Hearing, as well as a draft version of the Code and a draft version of the Town of Ignacio’s official zoning map as part of town-wide rezoning of property within the Town of Ignacio, will be available on the Town’s website (townofignacio.colorado.gov) and at the Library; the agenda will also be posted on the Town website, at the Library, on the front door of the Community Room, and at the Post Office.  Written comments can be submitted to Town Hall (540 Goddard Ave) by close of business on Friday, January 7, 2022.  Among other changes, the draft zoning ordinance amendments and amendments to the Town of Ignacio’s official zoning map will create new zoning districts for Planned Unit Development and for Community/Public uses, and will convert Business zoned property to R2 (Multi-Family Residential) and will convert certain R3 (Mobile Home Park) zoned properties to R1 (Single-Family Residential).

Parents, Students, Community partners, and Ignacio School District Staff,

The Ignacio School District will be hosting a Strategic Planning meeting with all stakeholders on Monday, January 24th from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Ignacio High School Auditorium.  This will be the first of a series of meetings at the School District to create a mission statement and develop a strategic plan.  Both will guide the district over the next five years.
